SPRC Achievements

• The SPRC has so far been granted 21 patents (U.S., Europe and Japan) and several patent applications are under processing.
• The SPRC has to its credit more than 150 publications in reputed peer reviewed journals and conferences.
• The SPRC has secured various competitive research funds and successfully completed 7 such research projects with funding’s from The National Plan for Science, Technology and Innovation (NPST), Center Of Excellence for Research in Engineering Material ( CEREM ) and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST).
• The SPRC has successfully completed more than 10 industry funded projects with SABIC, Saudi Aramco, Tasnee, Rowad National Plastic Co., Ma’aden and Al-Khoraif  Company.
• The SPRC has secured funding for 4 new research projects from The National Plan for Science, Technology and Innovation (NPST).
• The SPRC has been providing industrial consultations to Awazzel, Rowad National Plastic Co., AlSharq, Filling & Packing Materials Mfg. Co. (FIPCO), AbDullah Sultan Factory, Ministry of Transport, Several local Asphalt Contractors, Ministry of Defense & Aviation, National Guard and Saline Water Conversion Corporation.
• The SPRC has so far conducted 13 Industrial Training Courses covering topics such as polymer processing, compounding, blending, characterization, quality control, polymer synthesis and polymer engineering. These courses have seen the participation of more than 290 trainees from industry and academia.
• 4 Books - Testing of Polymers, H₂ Production from Renewables, Chemical Engineering Principles and Catalytic Chemical Reaction Engineering.
• The SPRC has so far conducted 9 General Lectures covering topics such as polymer processing and application.
• The SPRC has so far contributed towards the supervision and successful completion of 2 Doctoral Thesis (Ph.D.), 5 Master’s Thesis (M.Sc.) and more than 20 Undergraduate Design Projects.
